Of course the stock is down. They announced capital expenditures to grow the business instead of buybacks to juice earnings per share. Air cargo exploded when everyone was on lockdown and passenger airline schedules were gutted. Some people foolishly extrapolated those growth rates in perpetuity.
Let the 'investors' play their games and focus on contract negotiations. Pattern bargaining is producing gains but the process is taking much longer than we hoped.

Actually:
ATSG did 2 million in shares buyback.
The expenditures are not based on capital expansion, but operational cost (training, hotels, hiring, etc). This is a bad sign.
The long term issues addressed in the earnings call were the fact that demand is down just after they purchased many used jets for cargo conversion. At the same time, the recent purchases are based at ridiculous interest rates (my guess +5%). The leasing value recovery will be an uphill battle after additional conversion cost based on current labor value.

Long story short, ATSG hasn’t adapted for the new world, and truly believe things are still like 2018.
Top that with labor issues, negative publicity and high turnover, they are not an attribute place to park funds.

And you’ve never made a grammar mistake, haven’t you?. You are all so perfect, and I’m so grateful you guys let me make a living in your country.
Oh wait, I’m a US citizen, it must be my country too at this point.

Most is accurate for those having never had the experience and some who do. Different context: For most who have subjected themselves to 90% of the common flying grind or are well researched newbies who were looking for some adventure with different priorities/perspectives and who are at least OK with current contract conditions (better contract than when I started and many before me) seem to do well initially at least. Some love it and stay and others have changes of priorities nothing new and move on more power to them. To each their own. Lately, most in the aforementioned situation I have flown with are enjoying it and want to continue at this time. I choose balance and that’s just me. Trust me I don’t want to fly with the unhappy and I want them to move on and I wish them the best.

*It’s all based upon basing, equipment, contract, long haul, short haul, sorts, YOUR family if you have one in tow, etc. Not selling it, just know yourself before you pull the trigger.

It is your country but why insist on perpetuating broken English.
I was the a55 that corrected you. Please do the same when (not if) I mess up. English is my third language and I wasn’t born here either.

All the best brother. Sorry if I offended you.

If you’re paying taxes and are accountable it’s your country. Geeeez, tax was horrible for 2022.

Not entirely sure that's the algorithm here... Plenty of overseas people and corporations are roped into paying tax to uncle Sam.

Anyway, stock price has not been a great indicator of company strength ever since the market has become a gambling house driven by emotions.
