FDX Reserve A+

Has anyone out there bid reserve A+? If so, was it a good deal or would I be setting my self up for abuse if I bid it? What kind of trips can one expect?

It depends....

It depends what you are looking for.....

There are not as many A+ lines as A or B lines, as such, instead of having 20 plus guys on leveling, there will only be 2 or 3.

Now, that being said, the hours are much better during A+ than than A reserve.

Also, try looking at the calendars of 3 guys from June and July who bid A+ and see what their schedules depict. (Remember: past precedence is not indicative of future use)

I do know one Bus captain that has been happy with it. Most trips are afternoon departures or one may get the morning d/h's as well, but as Lindy stated not many A+ lines available, so one may not hold it or very few on leveling.

Been on it for a couple of months and haven't gotten used yet... Of couse, we're fat in the SO seat, so even the first fly guys aren't getting used.

Well...

Had it several months ago, and had to select first fly to get a landing. Other than that, crickets.

Last two times I've had it, they've used me like a two dollar *****.

YMMV.

Sucks if you are in ANC, it covers both A and B launch periods.
Last month there was only 1 line of A, this month ZERO lines of A.
Chalk one up for the company.

It depends on how what you like. I didn't like it because I felt it pinned me down all day. I actually prefer RA. Generally, I get to sleep through most of my R periods and when they do use me, I know about it far in advance by checking VIPS.

I'm in the left seat of the -10 and had it in May. I was used once all month. Ended up having to get 3/3 in sim to keep current. It's good and bad.
