Hello,

Regional F.O. with 3000TT and 1500 121 Turbine SIC looking closely at the ATR direct entry Captain position based in one of the floater gateways.

In the regionals I have seen several guys come in from the cargo feeders to get turbojet experience, etc... in hopes to move on to a major. Do any of you know of people going the other way? As in going to the cargo feeders to get TPIC experience and eventually move on to a major.

Just looking for some input. Thanks in advance!

Anybody know if the floaters stay in hotels or does the company have housing?
Thanks

Hotels, rental cars, and airline tickets to and from are completely covered by MAC.

Thanks I'm currently flying 135 in Alaska and weighing my options to get back to the lower 48!

Any chance a current MAC pilot could PM me. I've got a schedule question.

Thanks,

UA

Do any recent hire MAC pilots have any idea of the time involved between being hired and reporting for training?
I'm just about ready to apply to MAC but I need some time to do a few projects and don't want to short that. ie, I'll delay applying to build in that time unless there is a pretty long lag between hiring and training. Planning on applying for an ATR SIC floater position.

I believe a majority of the captains have come from regionals and most have extensive turbojet time. If you want to build TPIC at MAC understand it is very difficult to get more than about 200 hours per year, but then again the goal of many is to work as little as possible.

For an atr based captain position; what's the schedule? Do you get a week off somewhere in that rotation?

All captains 3 weeks on/ 1 off. If you are based at an out station base you will do that run each week 4-5 nights depending on base. If you are home based you will likely travel each week. If you are IND or MEM you will have a mix of scheduled runs, standby, home reserve, or travel to cover scheduled runs.
