Freightpuppy,

You mentioned "everything that want right now." Could you shed some light as to the realistic mins/quals that would get you hired? Thanks for the help.

When I said everything they want right now, I meant the heavy jet, transoceanic time. However, there are some people without it trickling in. Realistically, I'd say 5000+ TT, 1500+ PIC Turbine. 4 people I know started this year with a little over these times. Only one had heavy, transoceanic.

A buddy of mine just made the pool with less than 3000 tt and about 1500 pic. He is a white male and military.

How long have the windows stayed open in the past for submitting apps? One month, two months, two weeks?

How long do you anticipate it staying open?

I am just getting my new medical next week and want to put that in accurately.

thanks for all you help AV8OR.

The window was open for quite a while at first (about 2 years). Then they started changing the format (3 times in a year) and then the window closed for 30 days or so and re-opened again on August 15th. Who knows how long it’ll stay open this time? I think they might even keep closing and reopening it every 3-4 months, but that’s just my prediction, and I’m frequently wrong.

As far as job fairs, I agree with Mega that they’re probably of less importance now since the names are “selected” by a computer but I think it still helps. My friend who went to the latest women in aviation conference did get a call for an interview and was hired about 6 weeks after the job fair. He’d been trying to get hired for several years but this was his first job fair. I’d say go, it can’t hurt you.

Oh yeah, he is white, male, all civilian...

Did he have his application in already when he went or did he just get called from the resume? What were his quals?

Well being military hasn't helped me a bit, and I have way more than the mins.

Trying to stay patient.

They're talking about military HEAVY drivers specifically (KC-135/KC-10/C-17/C-5, etc). Similiar type of flying both duration and equipment.
