if your last name is different, there is a way.

at one point i had 3 relatives working for UPS in Louisville when they still had their even more asinine "no relatives of any kind can work at UPS at the same time"

my brother, cousin, and uncle all worked unloading A/C at SDF. each had a different last name, and were smart enough to say no when they asked the relative question.

You can be related and throw boxes. They were running out of people to hire. If you have a relative working in a different department, you are SOL. As far as the last name thing, don't try it as a pilot. Trust me. I had a front row seat

1st year pay (1990) (FO)= $47,000 2nd yr FO =$49,000in todays dollars. Pay raise to $64,000 (FE) in 1992 second year (todays dollars) This was the first IPA contract.

Confused, why did you go from 1st year FO pay to second year FE pay? Also, that's in today's dollars? So what were the numbers in '90 and '92 dollars?

I'm only one cup of coffee into my morning, sorry, Now that I want to find it I can't locate my old contract so from memory. I don't remember F/0 pay in 1992, just the raise for F/Es. S0.....

in 1991 dollars
1st = 30,000
2nd = 45,000 (F/E)

todays new hires will make more in their first two years then guys did back then (in buying power) but first year pay is way to low in my opinion.

Could you use your magic inflation calculator to compare first year pay then and now?

Sorry I missed this the other day, I see you already found it.

Yes, google rocks! :) Also, it does wonders to my Roth IRA considering I bought it for $120/share (just wish I had more money to invest in my IRA back then ...)
