Call for Purple Moderators
[this is a repost from a reply in the Disputed Pairing thread - we need a few moderators for the "Purple" forum. Please PM me if you can help.]
I recognize that during the LOA and now with disputed pairings, the in house debate is heated and sometimes emotional. Add anonymous usernames to the mix and discretion and restraint can be difficult to muster.
That said, I'd prefer to pull the plug on APC instead of seeing it degrade into the flamefest that other aviation boards have become. The APC forum Terms of Service are pretty simple, but they are geared towards producing a productive dialog.
As you might notice, there are no ads on this forum and that's because we don't view this community (our peers) as a revenue source. We genuinely want to offer a resource for our peers and we think the thousands (and thousands) of dollars that we've spent is a good investment in the profession.
We support confronting pilots who "don't get it" and this site is without question pro-labor/pro-union although when it comes to confrontation our suggestion is: Do it face to face. To be clear, pilots who wear a union pin should be called to task when putting personal gain ahead what's best for the group. However, this forum is NOT the venue to make personal attacks and insults from behind an anonymous usernames.
This site continues to see explosive growth, and is growing beyond the ability of a handful of moderators to effectively manage the forums. I'll make this the "official" solicitation for a moderator or moderators for the "Purple Tail" sub-forum. We need the help of a few FedEx pilots who can help APC continue to achieve the goal of being a productive resource.
Who's in? PM me if interested, and let's talk.

I left FI because it was always the same 5 year old children throwing sand at one another in the school yard.
I am a pilot at FDX, somewhat active on this board, and have a little free time to help moderate.
Let me know what I need to do to help out.
Oops....guess I didn't hit the PM!

Forgot - we don't vote on moderators. Sorry.
You both have my support.
