If you dovetail the above info with recent events, Probably not a big deal if we weren't overmanned already before even considering Age 65, bit that isn't the case.
Sounds like we are more properly manned? This company has operated Under-manned for years and they get use to it. |

Z Well - just learned something. A message must be at least 10 characters. So, a simple "thanks" is will not suffice. Thus, this pretty meaningless addition to the post. |
I have a feeling we'll keep the 72 around for addition lift and for all those X pairings and airport standbys.[/QUOTE]
Was J/S the other day on a 27 and the F/O just got out of a PT and heard that the 727 will be here till 2012. Go Figure................ |

Don't worry bus driver duty will go senior, but just in case we will have an inverse seniority non vol plan.

I just had a PT last month and my instructor said they've been told the 27 will be around until 2017...however in 5 years it'll be used kinda like a super feeder a/c. I wonder if that means we'll have to go use the feeder ops area too. |

There are two gates over by Feeder City were the 727 are parked.....I guess it already is a "super feeder" :p
Now, when you have to hitch-hike from there because a bus never shows to take you to the AOC, do not be surprised. (We waited :30 minutes from block in and still never had a bus........) |

I can see how sending some MD-10s overseas could reduce their availability for CONUS flying, however, that flying still must be accomplished...it can't all go to the trucks. I wouldn't be surprised to see FDX make an announcement for A330F's or maybe even 767-300F's (aren't AMJ's an issue with these?) to pick up the slack on the domestic side. Pure speculation, mind you... |

It'd be nice to see some 330F's or something, but it seems like they are cooling off on the domestic capacity right now in favor of overseas to me. Lot of doubling up of cities and transloading and fat staffing in the -10 and the Boeing. That seems to be how they plan on covering things domestically for now, all subject to the whims of the economy but what else is new?
