FedEx Online Profile Updates
#1
If someone has a profile started with http://www.pilot.fedex.com/ is it reasonable to assume that HR roundfiled the profiles when they closed the window?
I have been able to update my profile monthly for the past year but have been getting the "We apologize for the inconvenience, but the system has gone down for maintenance. Please check back at a later time" message lately.
Did I miss this post already, if so, apologies.

The last two times the window closed you couldn't add yourself to the system, but if you were in the system you could continue to update your profile. I am very familiar with this since I took eight months to make sure my logbook and everything were as accurate as possible. It took me a few hours to input my stuff when I did originally try to submit. The window closed while I was inputing. I was that guy. When I hit submit it said we are no longer accepting pilot profiles. The original link I hit to enter my info also said we are no longer accepting pilot profiles. You probably heard me scream.
It all worked out in the end and I eventually was hired by FedEx.
If you are interested in FedEx put in your name an SSN. Then update your profile later. This way you are in the system. People can do recommendations on you if you exist, and you are not locked out. From experience the system does have periodic maintenance. They haven't roundfiled profiles to my knowledge. Trashing profiles would alienate canidates, and make people reaccomplish letters of recommendation.
Good luck, and don't be that guy.

When they reopen the system, your profile should be there when you input your SSN. A few years ago I wasn't able to update my profile for a long period of time, but when I input my SSN in 2005 all my info was still there. Don't imagine things have changed.

Problem is, it's been like this for about a month or so now. I could be wrong, but if you dodn't update every six months, won't it kick you out? If so, I'm afraid that if it stays under "maintenance" that six month window may expire, without anyway to get back in if the window is closed.

I seem to remember it being much longer than 6 months that I couldn't update my profile. I was furloughed from NWA at the time, and since I'd heard FedEx wasn't interviewing furloughed dudes I hadn't updated my profile for a long time. So between the system being down for maintenance and me not thinking I had a shot to get an interview, I bet it was at least a year that I went without updating. Once I heard some furloughed guys were getting interviewed I went back into the site and entered my SSN and password (fortunately I remembered my password) and up came my profile. Again, I don't know if the same thing will happen this time but it worked out fine for me a couple years ago.
Good luck though.

Thanks for the information. Kinda what I thought, but wasn't sure.

I have been attempting to update my profile for over a month now with no success. The message stating the site is down for MX has been my only response. I have asked my friends and even sent an email to the webmaster with no avail... I am sure they will fix it when they decide that they need to start hiring again. Till then just keep on keepin on!

After reading this thread, I thought it only fair to see if I could get you some information about on-line applications, etc. So I just got off the phone with one of our flight operations administrators (FOA) (their job is as an assistant to the aircraft specific chief pilots) and also the woman who administrators the pilot application pool.
Here's what I learned:
. From the FOA: she thought that we'd not be hiring until 2009.
. From the pool administrator: she says: a) that the on-line system is in fact down for maintenance and should be up by the end of the month; b) applications are good for between a year and two years without being updated; c) in her 8 years of working in this job, she can remember the system being purged of applicants only once or at most twice; d) she thought we'd be hiring in 2008.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.
