They know they need to hire. The snake ate an elephant (closed the 72 out, closing out 74 classic, still picking up 11's ) and literally are out of training slots for new hires, available slots are going to thise already on property. Hiring will start the day they burp up extra training slots. Have poste don this debacle before. New hires this year had nice vacations along with 6 figure 72 crews. Costly bad planning. Adding new hires right now would not solve the problem in short term, so they just stopped it until they clear the traffic jam.
Expect JA's through the spring and desperate pleas for help. Fly safe!

Hey Salty,

I've seen your explanation, understand completely. I was one of those new hires ... I used a 3 week break to sell a house, buy a house AND move to SDF. What was I thinking ?

My post was a poor attempt to share with those not on property, that UPS will need bodies eventually ...

And now that you mention it, I think the training capacity is too small for a place this size. It seems that I have been at smaller airlines that could run a larger school house ... FWIW. But I digress ...

JA's through the Spring would be nice ... I might even consider answering the ones in March and beyond ! ;)

If you know what I mean ! :D

Later, Brown CC
