Sick no Sick?

I called in sick this morning and recieved the confirmation, but I was assigned a trip this afternoon and I didn't get removed from the trip. Its showing on my calender and then sick after the trip.
Thoughts?

Is it your shoulder?

That's very strange indeed. Have you called either crew scheduling or your ACP? Let us know the outcome, please.

I'm looking at it again, the trip assignment is over a day and a half away, maybe it will drop out closer.

I am assuming you are on reserve, correct? Not unusual for the trip to show up on your calendar and then later be removed, sick time deducted and leveling added.

All a formality. Out of curiousity...what is the time until show?

EGGMAN 12-13-2007 08:20 AM

All right, figured it out.

Trip is < 120 TAFB and there is 39hours to show. So I will need to call in Well by 7AM the Day prior. End result is the trip will get droped Friday at 7a.

Wow, that was stressful.

I believe it depends on what time you actually called in sick. If it were past 0700 LBT, trips that start the next day won't be removed until 0700 LBT of the day after you called in sick. If you called in before 0700 LBT, then I believe that you next-day trip would be removed at 0700. I'm not positive about the above, but I believe it's correct. Let us know what you find out.

I have had them call me for a international show time and been puzzled/nervous... Phone rings and
"Hey you have a show time of ...."

Aren't I on the Sick List? (and you're thinking aren't I on sick list???) hmmm

"Oh NO! OOPS we need to get someone on that trip. Sorry to bother you."

Makes you nervous at first because we are always guilt till proven innocent.
I have had the trip stay in calender for sometime afterward, but as long as you have the ref number you should be good to go. Cover you A$$...

hschol is correct....keep those ref #s.

As long as you have a ref number for your sick call why sweat it. I keep a folder (by month) on my computer's desk top and and every time VIPS generates a ref number, I 'save page as..' and drop it into the desktop folder.
Any questions pop up and I have a record.
Always check 6...
