Today Is The Busiest Day for Cargo
That's what the news reports are saying. So why are so many of my cargo friends logged on to APC this afternoon?

"As the Christmas holiday approaches it’s important to keep in mind there
will be many of our fellow line pilots on the road, away from their
families without the opportunity to enjoy a Christmas dinner with loved
ones. Unfortunately, like many other professions we do not have the luxury
of suspending operations for the holidays. To help ease the pain and to
let you know how much your service is appreciated, the Flight Operations
Department will continue the tradition of reimbursing the cost of a
Christmas meal for all pilots working during Christmas Day."

Taken for the General FCIF titled "Pilot Christmas Meal". The details are in the FCIF.

That's ok, when I was at American Airlines, I got a furlough notice for the holidays and was furloughed a few weeks before my birthday. So for the masses if you don't like it at UPS, American will soon be hiring.
At Allegheny Commuter back in 1994, I got my furlough notice at Thanksgiving time. Thankfully, I had Christmas off that year and New Years.
I miss those guys.
Gooble Gooble

Happy Holidays,
Just thankful to have my health (except my liver) and be employed.

For once the media is correct! Apparently, Brown and Purple are not the only ones experiencing a busy day, but the good old USPS is too. I sent a package on Saturday, paid extra and was told it would get to San Antonio on Monday, but it's Wednesday now and nothing. Zip, zilch, nada. Hope it arrives or there will be a very unhappy 4 year old boy and his 2 year old brother.
That Hub Buffet sounds good , but de727's post inspired me to get my own Norbest turkey yesterday. And I'm a Butterball girl.
Happy Holidays everyone! As I offered last year, if anyone is laying over in Seattle and you'd like some homemade meals and family fun, the vagabond household is always open.
