What would you do?

I have a upcoming class date for UPS. I was just offered a job flying a GV at my home airport. I also have a seniority number with UAL. Was already called back to UAL but delaying them for financial reasons and my love of corporate flying. Most junior cap to me at UAL is only 2 years senior to me. I can put off UAL for at least 3 years or more.

What would you do? Is this really as hard to decide as it seems?

Immediately go to church and tithe! You are one Blessed pilot.

Too many personal QOL and financial issues to really give you advice (not that you really should take any from me, my career's in a shambles). Do you have to resign seniority for UPS or GV? How stable is GV and what's the QOL like? Not sure you can lose too badly with any decision.

Good luck and congratulations!

Just look at the retirement! My best friend just got laid off from his G-V job after 7 years with a big profitable oil company! relocated, so they said.

I'd go with UPS not look back on the other two...

Once our contract is done here at UPS, 4th or 5th year first officers will be making as much as a United A-320 captain. You will also get a fairly good retirement package, and job stability thrown in ;)

Your GV job might have a good QOL factor, but it's not bad at UPS either.

I agree with LAfrequentflyer. Choose the best paying career with the best job security, UPS.

<<<Choose the best paying career with the best job security, UPS.>>>

That is why I chose UAL in 99.....

<<<<Just look at the retirement!>>>>

Will UPS be giving pilots a good retirement package in 25+ years?

Yes I have been blessed but it came with a lot of work on my part. God helps those who help themselves!!!

Man, this is a head scratcher. Do want seniority, Quality of Life, or Security?

You most likely can hold a widebody seat at UAL. That's nice. And you'll be Captain in two or three years. And you have passes for you and the family. The G4 job even takes away your Jumpseat privilege.

I would either pick UAL or UPS. Seniority vs. Security. If your over Forty, stay at UAL. But you'll make more Cash at UPS.

Can't hold widebody yet but very soon I am sure. I am 35. But its not all about money. I have been doing a lot of research on UPS flying and although I have done similar stuff like that for non-skeds and liked it I am not sure I want to do night flying all they way to retirement. And it would seem that in order for me to make CAP at UPS in the shortest time it would have to be in SDF and that would mean commuting.

I have fell in love with the idea of UPS and I have fell in love with doing the G5 thing and maybe paying off my house soon then going back to UAL almost free and clear.

I have no idea what to do. But I know its not all about money and time is running out for me to make a choice. I rather be experiencing an engine fire over the pacific at this point rather then make this choice.
