I lived in Eagle River for 3 years. Awesome place for friends and snowmobiles. Easy access to the airport.

I just bought a condo in ANC. Buyers market right now. Why spend money on hotel rooms when you can use it as an investment and a place of your own. I am going to be in ANC for a long time now with the age 60 and all the other crap that is happening. No brainer decision for me.

I believe that is called taxation without representation. Didn't we go to war over that a few years ago...

I think my next question should be what kind of car did or do you need up there? I'm assuming one lives in ANC, Eagle River, Chugiak, or the Valley? Does it really matter for the above locations or not?

A Little Honda with tented windows, front wheel-drive and a sunroof is a plus. Add a beach bag and flip-flops and you're ready...

Yes, that's "high" no matter the value of the house! Taxes vary with the town, is there an appreciable difference between your location, and others. Where is it that taxes are 6-12K?
