Default Side fyling at Fedex

Is it difficult to get approval to do extra commercial flying outside of Fedex, such as flight instruction on the side. Has anyone ever gotten approval from the VP, per the contract, to do such flying?

I once flew with an f/o whose family operated a charter flying service in Anchorage, AK. Each year, he would get approval to fly for the family business for a month during their busy season.

Default something non-flying

You'd be wise to discover something non-flying to do that might make you extra money/be a fall back.

Thanks, going to send the email to my ACP tommorow. Wasn't sure if it was something warmly received or not.

Did some part 91 on the side in a Citation several years back. I was told by my ACP to put in the letter that there would be no conflicts with my legality for Fedex flying and that I knew that my primary focus would remain on my job at Fedex. As long as I put the company first, he said there would not be any problem. Had the letter in hand within a week. I did have to write and receive a letter each year.

Are you looking to subsidize your FDA allowances?
