If you throw a frog in boiling water, he'll jump out. If you put him at room tempature and just turn up the heat a little at a time, he'll stay there till he's dead because he lacks the senses to realize what's going on.
I've got some other reasons but your right, the alarm bells should be going off.

Default Great History Lesson

Thanks for posting that, it's a great review of where we've been. This talk of the F-word, BLG reductions, and the re-bid (****) for old dudes---it's a big diversion from what's really going on.

We need to be willing to go the Mat as a unified group to protect our schedules from being "sodimized." Here we are the most profitable (or at least one the top 2 or 3) airlines on the planet, and all we are talking about is the F-word and BLG reduction. YGBSM---it's time to dig in and refuse to fly these screwed up pairings when they result in us being too fatigued to fly them safely. It's the only way to get them fixed. I know--easier said then done.

The main difference is that back then we didn't have a letter from the union agreeing to the elimination of purity, which facilitates the optimization.

CDG-STN-MEM is no longer disputed in Feb, it is in the bidpack and built into lines. Company wins another, although this trip is far better than some nondisputed trash in the bidpack.

"FedEx attempts to buy DC-9s but is thwarted by the major passenger carriers that see FedEx as a threat."

Unfortunately, your analysis fails to state the fact that, ALPA led the charge in trying to keep us from getting large aircraft.........now they just take our money......so who won?

Thought we were talking about the optimizing of our schedules? Why are you talking about DC-9s?

We've been through this before...ALPA was supporting THEIR MEMBERS.

What a novel idea!!!! I had no idea ALPA did that.
