I would certainly rather see a non-member retire, as well.

If he didn't...Then we'd have a non-member staying after age 60!

Let me rephrase ----

Having a nonmember retire at sixty is more appealing than any crewmember staying past sixty. I am just glad to see retirements.

I have a higher opinion (by far) of the GC that just retired than the GC out on medical.

In a word, yes. His actions are a fact. And until the next 3-5 years passes and we see what the near and over 60 pilots actually do, and whether the economy continues to tank, all your whining is purely speculative.
