A friend works there, his take is that the seniority list has to be merged before any outside hiring will happen. that could take a while.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully the lists will be merged in a fair manner sometime soon. Then maybe their operation can move forward with some growth.

I heard this speculation second-hand today and I'm curious whether any Atlas/Polar pilots would care to respond. "Cargo Facts Update" believes that Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings is shopping the company around to other all-cargo carriers. I'm not a subscriber, I just saw the article quoted. Any comments?

If by the company you mean both Atlas and Polar it is news to me, but maybe the creditors, who own the stock, want to recoup their investment faster than by slowly sellig their stock when it goes public in june.
if by the comany you mean Polar, Polar has been for sale from the day AAWH bougth it, they just never found anyone wiling to pay what they belive woud be a fair price ( but rumors of buyers have and are always very much present , as are "done deals")

I read the quote again and I can't tell if "Cargo Facts Update" was referring to AAWH or just Polar. The quote implied it was the entire operation, but you could read it either way. Maybe someone out there has access to the original article. It's just someone's speculation at "Cargo Facts" but there's probably a germ of truth in there somewhere.
