Jack's e-mail:

Hey, could you guys do us a favor and update your standing bids with what you really want so we can have one great big bid and not have to pay to train you a bunch of times and pay passover pay and stuff? Pretty Please?

My response:

Hey, could you guys get serious about negotiating a contract that recognizes the contributions of the pilots to the TREMENDOUS continuing success of this company?

Yeah, I'm updating my standing bid, alright.

Tony C.

Great reply. Reading Jack's email I thought, why should we help the company in good faith when they can not come to negotiations in good faith?

I've decided to start a campaign. Until we get a Contract (or the REAL bid opens,) I'm bidding ONLY the 737 Captain seat.

I might have bid the A380, but refuse to participate in that card game until we have a pay rate for the behemoth. If by some freak chance we do get the 737, it will almost certainly be a narrow body under the current contract. So, that settles it for me.

How many people can bid 737 Captain? :)

Deuce,

When is FedEx getting a Euro domicile and do you know where it will be?

What happens if you get awarded a airplane not on the property? Do you keep your current training date or just stay in your current seat until the training program is set up?

The current rumor from JL is that it may be set up within one year. Of course, a popular phrase is "I'll believe it when it's on the ramp and painted purple." I think a euro domicilie will happen, but maybe not that quickly. The current thinking puts the euro dom in Paris flying the Airbus. Swizterland was another option, I think, but the Swiss govt wouldn't budge on helping out with skyhigh housing costs. I've heard the Paris deal is being leveraged to help Fred Smith buy more Buses. Of course, that could be rumor too. But, in short, brush up on your French!

It won't be awarded unless a vacancy is posted, and they won't post a vacancy for an airplane that is not on the property.

The point is, they want us to do them a favor and adjust our standing bid so they can take a look and see where everyone wants to go so they can tailor a vacancy posting. It would only be for them, because no other pilots can see my standing bid, or even have a clue about my plans, until a Practice Bid. So, I say, yea, well, there's something I want too: a new contract.

So, I'm covering my cards. Nobody can see them but me and the Company, and I'm not letting the Company gain an advantage. When they decide to Post the Vacancies, I'll change my standing bid to what I really want. That way, my fellow pilots will have a better picture (albeit historically inaccurate, anyway) on the Practice Bid of what we'll do on the Final Bid.

737 Captain :)

This rumor pops up every time we are in negotiations................................
The more important question is.."When will MGT start negotiating in good faith?"............or "Am I doing everything possible to help my negotiating committe out"

Don't worry about rumors............Worry about you potential contract.

What good is a European Domicile if no Americans are based there? Get it??

Read Scope!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see. So the Company is running practice bids on our current standing bid to see where every one stands.

A380 CAPT with 1 year seniority. :D
