I'm sure all those senior retreads that could only get back to the 757 would appreciate the same rate across the board.. Again who are they looking out for??

Hey Koz,

Just a thought. You say the senior guys are looking out for themselves... In your career where do you aspire to be? A highly paid F/O or a highly paid W/B Capt flying international?

Do you think the company would pay the 727 guys the same as the 380 guys or more like paying the 380 guys what the 727 guys are making?

1. One pay scale does not mean FO and Capt are paid the same.

2. Looking at UPS it looks like NB guys get paid at the WB rates. Sure would have liked to see the company proposal for saving training costs. Hope "we" didn't dismiss it out of hand.

Which means our NB pay is really a "B" scale???

If you want to call it a B scale have at it; I wouldn't.

I think it means UPS has a good system and we have a good system. But I hope we didn't dismiss the company proposal because all our WB guys on the negotiating commitee thought they deserved more than those sleazy NB guys :).

Hey man. Did Boobie Lightpurple give you that Vulcan mind meld? You know, career F/Os make more than Capts. Top pay for A-300 F/Os unable to make it through upgrade. Bonus pay for being published in anything. 3+30 for writing letters to union presidents whilst not being a member. I.Q. pay for pilots who think they are smarter than everyone else. That sort of thing. (disclaimer: all the above is a "blatant lie").

1) Been around long enough to know that.

2) If the company could save training costs they surely would not pass on the saving to us. Now, let's assume (yea i know) they did. They could raise the NB rates to be equal to the WB rates. Now every WB would raise He11 that they got shorted....

Our pay rate differences between the NB/WB/Capt/FO have not changed in years. Whenever the crew force gets a raise it is across the board for all seats. I think we should actually have the F/O rates set at a percent of the Capt rates.

I figured you knew the difference but your first question was do you aspire to be a highly paid F/O or a highly paid Capt. So I thought I would point out that one pay scale does not change that.

As to the company passing the savings on, that was my point at brown they do.

uh... for the sake of argument.. like we need a reason to argue on here...

are we saying that a guy flying a 727 from mem-aus and back should have the same hourly rate as a guy flying an 11 from taipei to subic and back?

dont' shoot.... I'm just asking!!!!!!!

I will be a very senior Capt, probably in the top 20 of the company. W/B capt yes, intl probably not. My choice.

Why not negotiate a good payrate across the board which helps all crew members and not just the top 300-400 that want to fly the 777/A380. So for the 20years of being not so senior, you get to benefit for 5-10 of being senior..... I like the math of doing well for 80% of my career vs doing really really really well during the last five...

I like the math too, of having a very "high five" to retire on. I know the pension may or may not be here. Can't argue that either way.

So, the 777/380 should get paid less so the F/O's can make more? I think we need rates more like UAL in 2000 if you ask me. At the end of this contract we'll not even be close to those numbers. On a side note, I'm thankful I'm here and not somewhere else..
