You mean the one that burned up thanks to their employees smoking in the back? I guess they too liked it "smothered and covered." :D

That would be the one. I got to watch that one "live" from my hotel room window in the ghetto wing of the Holiday Inn.

I guess there are only 199 restaurants available to us now on Hurstbourne.

Anyone up for a Subway special?

I always enjoy a leisurely one mile stroll down Hurstbourne (with no sidewalks) dodging Billy Bob in his pickup truck at night, during a snow or ice storm (been to SDF in the past few weeks?) just so I can relish the culinary delight of a "Chili's" or some other chain restaurant that microwaves 90% of its entrees.

I like my hash browns smothered and covered.....how about you?

So I got the lazy and afraid parts correct it appears. Don't be afraid to explore. There are plenty of "non-chain" establishments in the area.

Well, you missed the “no sidewalks, dodging Billy Bob in his pickup truck at night” part.

I live in Tennessee so I’m quite comfortable not having sidewalks. Heck, I can even walk out there with no shoes and the hot pavement won’t bother me at all.

The pilots from the “more developed” – a.k.a. over-taxed regions of our country though really struggle with the “finders keepers” or the “if you can kill it - you can drag it home” attitude of some of the Kentucky drivers.

UPS offers outstanding health insurance but I think it has a disclaimer regarding “hit by a native driver” – we’re on our own if that happens.

What can I say? Lazy and afraid have been major contributors to my successful aviation career, and have gotten me to where I am today....you've certainly got me pegged.

Really? Name one decent establishment.....and don't say that cajun place in the shopping mall, or I'll have to get my stomach pumped as a precautionary measure.

Maybe we can meet up on a SDF layover, and eat at my favorite restaurant....all the waffels, eggs, and hash browns served up with dirty silverware that you can eat....on me. Is it a date?

Where do you guys layover in sdf? We stay at the Brown. Seems to be several nice places near there.

HAHA....

Holiday Inn Hurstbourne. The Brown? That's like the nicest place in town. Our hotel in SDF is pretty average but the location partly makes up for it. Quiet (away from the airport) and there are a lot of places you can walk to.

"Boo" on this hotel?

Anybody still layover at the Seelbach? F/As used to say the place was haunted.

I wish we stayed at the new Hyatt (formerly Amerisuites) on Hurstbourne. You have a 42" flatscreen tv in your room...it's pretty nice.

I think that's where we did Captain's Leadership Workshop (what a waste of time that was). Yeah, it was nicer and even closer to Smokey Bones.
