Disputed pairing conspiracy theory
#11
Here is another conspiracy theory. The company is keeping some trips out of the bid pack to reduce the collective BLGs and then turns around and assigns them as 'extra' pairings to the reserve force. Looks like someone got tired of paying dudes to sit around. This is an airbus example only...anyone else see the same trend?

Lacking when one starts the "Circle," intelligence is....
Once you start down the dark path of DPs, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will.

I thought they were cinnamon rolls. But he's right, once you willingly fly disputed pairings, you've crossed over to the dark side, whether you're a so-called "good guy", as some of the guys have been described on other threads, or not.

The plan may be to assign more flying to the reserves. Conspiracy? I'm not inclined to think of it in that way. Just another plan being hatched to improve efficiency. It's up to us to I.D. it and respond accordingly.
It backfired at least once for MEM MD11 folks. The company had to chop up a 13 day trip into 3 parts because it was too big for the reserves. I think folks picked up each part from open time. Not sure, I am.
But I am sure folks picking up DPs are not cool. Do they think 4700 other pilots are leaving those things in open time just for them? Pretty obnoxious, they are.
