Talking Ups 747 ?

You fellas still have that 47 that was used in Airport 75? when are you supposed to get rid of her?

I don't know if we have that particular whale, but the rest of the classics are supposed to be put out to pasture after the 2008 peak season.

I think that was 670up? I'm not sure if we have any 100's left.

I believe is was N675UP (ex-AA N9675). According to the FAA database it's still owned by UPS but that doesn't mean they're still flying it.

Interesting that it started as N9675. I always wondered about our plane numbering. One would think that the 747's would be N4xxxup, 757's N5xxxup, A-300's N3XXXup and so on down the line. I wonder if it somehow started with dropping the 9 off of the AA planes and just going from there?

There's a 747-100 sitting on the MEM UPS ramp. It's been there for months ...
