Default DHL (Astar, Abx, Polar, Atlas etc.)

I heard there is going to be some announcement about DHL's restructruing plan this month. Any truth to this?

I also heard about the several 767's up for grabs, but I also heard about someone acquiring 737's for us domestic opperations. What I have been hearing is that the 767's will probably go to polar and 737's will go to Astar. Anyone else hear anything like this? Not trying to spread rumors here. I am just curious what rumors you all are hearing. Thanks

I would think ABX would get them. The airplane is already on their certificate. If that even matters.

Thinking will kill you if you are a DHL manager. Find the carrier with the least amount of B767 experience or even one that has never operated a Boeing product and that will be the new 767 operator for DHL (sarcasm intended).

I know DHL seemed to love the 737 when we brought them in last fall with Kitty Hawk for XMAS.

If there is a purchase of anything, I bet whoever will fly them the cheapest will get them.

Seeing that you work for ABXA, I guess your group is entitled to them?(sarcasm intended)

Well, there is a little more to it than that but I am glad they are gone. RIP

There is a certain logic in placing them with us. We already operate 767's. OTOH....

maint is doing c checks on the 9s thru july according to a guy in maint. Even the -31s. Why are we spending money on a jet we are gonna park??? Or at least park some. I guess time will tell.

I can think of a couple of reasons. One is we aren't going to park them. Another is we sold it. We didn't "C" check the -8's once they were parked unless we planned to put one back in service or sold it. We could be "C" checking airplanes that are going back into service to replace ones coming up on "C" checks that are going to be parked. Even in this case, it suggests the -9's aren't going to parked in large numbers.
