Exclamation FDX - Memphis Airbus FOs

Here's a thought ... pick up Trip 137 on 5/12/08, so you can help DW "do the right thing" on his line check!

I hope he gets the most junior FO on reserve (or maybe he can get an ACP to fly the right seat). Either way, have fun in GDL!

It's an O/B. Not going to have much fun in GDL during the 2hr turn. Last time I flew it they didn't even want us to leave the plane.

And heads-up for the aspd restriction on departure. Always a good thing to read the apt brief on PFC

Are you insinuating that a junior guy couldn't do a good job? If so, that's a pretty condescending attitude.

I don't think that that was what was meant at all. Nobody was insinuating anything. The suggestion was for someone to pick up that trip and "help" DW do a really lousy job on his checkride. A rather sophomoric suggestion, I might add.

Not at all ... I merely want him to work WITH a junior pilot, rather than AGAINST us for a change. No bad intentions or suggestions that anyone hamstring his checkride. I'm fairly junior myself and I show up rested and prepared for every event.

My "do the right thing" comment was tongue-in-cheek, although I'll bet DW might need more monitoring by the FO since his focus may not be 100% on flying these days.

Sophomoric, huh? Maybe. But not for the reasons you inferred.

OK. Sorry, it's not the first time I've been wrong.

B reserve is more senior than usual in the Bus thanks to the over-manning. Tons of planet guys working for the rarely go to work lines, especially w/carryover.

one of my buds actually went back to bidding A reserve w/carryover because he was too junior for B reserve

So, if the trip had made it to a rsv assignment, would have gone senior.
whether that's good or not depends on your perspective,
2 guys flying together who almost never fly. Could have been interesting
