Thanks for the info Phred. It probably makes a big difference in on-time performance if the philosophy is get the package there on time or you're losing money. Over here the school of thought seems to be to wait hours (and sometiems days) if necessary until the airplane is completely full before departing or we're losing money. Also the union is probably a key ingredient in keeping the schedules survivable. I will not work for an airline without a union again.

The food is generally cooked, usually eaten cold, and if it is a "Hot" meal, you warm it yourself, or have the IRO(In-route Refreshement Officer) do it for you.

By the way SW, some times the Pretzels probably are better, and less likely to make you sick.
