Default Posting 08-03 The Excess Game

The cancellation of FDX posting 08-03 proves that management is not being upfront about their plans for the future. They are using the bid posting process as a planning tool just to find out where the numbers will fall. They always tell us to "bid what you want to fly", yet they are not posting what they are really going to post. This really jacks a lot of people around and causes stress for many of the junior people. Until FDX management comes up with a real plan, my standing bid for all practice bids will be 727SO.

I tend to agree. They could've seen well before the bid that this bid would cause huge training numbers. Everyone could see that. They also knew it would transfer many people between ANC and MEM. Time for DW to get some answers from his buddy PC. He always talks about the great relationship they have, so I'm sure he knows something he's not telling us.

I thought the same thing initially ... I now think it's just plain management incompetence (i.e. BID - CANCELED BID, FDA BID - CANCELED FDA BID, BID - CANCELED BID???). I'm disappointed

In theory, the way this bid was posted, just about every single person could have changed seat positions. 4500 training cycles would have been fun (sarcasm light) to watch. There were a lot of 3 digit seniority folks on the pracice bids swapping seats. They obviously wouldn't be affected by excesses, but they had their names in the hat for seat swaps.
