UPS stock purchase plan, why bother?
I should have heeded the advice of never putting large amounts of money into one company. Anyone else having regrets about buying UPS stock through the discounted stock purchase plan?
UPS shares set to decline after profit warning Shares hit their lowest point since October, 2003 |
Buy and hold long term (and forget about it), and you will be a millionaire easily. I've been buying the max that I can.
JMHO. |
I doubt you'll become a millionaire "easily" due to price appreciation on the stock. It would be due to the amount of money socked away, and I applaud you for that.

Yesterday however, I changed my plan to $500/pay check of the Big Brown stock. I still need the cash however I believe this is the time to be buyin’ - when things settle down a bit I believe our stock will look like a great long term investment all over again... Just my 1/4¢ |

Well, it's all relative. Call me a Kool-Aid drinker (prefer pine-apple version) but I’m buying UPS shares right now.

I'm not man enough to do it, but it seems as though every time UPS stock falls into the 60's, they find a way to get it back up to the 70's. I think that there could be money to be made on this trend. The problem is, I don't have the cajones!
|
I think they take 10% off the price of the stock at either the first day of the quarter or the last day of the quarter...whichever is lower. Whatever money you had deducted from the previous 90 days is used to purchase at the discount. Set it...AND FORGET IT!

The energy news letter that I subscribe to was recommending put options for a $64.7? strike price in early May. Didn't touch it because I only work in the energy sector. Should a, would a, could a.
It also predicted the price to be back in the 70's by mid 4th quarter; so I think I'll be buying a lot of it a these prices! I hope it is true not only for my portfolio, but for a future flying job @ UPS! Cheers. PtP |
