Just read this month's issue of AOPA. The last feature is a regular that highlights members and is titled simply, "Pilots". The story was written by a third generation pilot and second generation Fed Ex pilot. He mentioned at the end that his father is retiring this month and he would be upgrading to fly on his dad's last flight in the MD. Pretty cool.

Anyway, if you guys are on this fourm, congradulations. If not, I'm sure that one of the purple tail guys here could pass along that I can't think of a neater way to finish up one's career.

Sadly though by the time it is our turn to retire there will be a Chinese crew waiting at the gate to take the plane.

I know both of them. The old man (I love calling him that!) is a great guy and one of the best captains that I've ever flown with. Lou was a DC-8 captain at something like 23. I flew many trips with him when I was a first officer. I haven't flown with his son Colin but he also is a hell of a nice guy.
