At these rates why do we need scope, we are already cheaper than the Chinese pilots. Do they have food stamps and projects in Hong Kong, cause if we furlough and those guys go to a 48 BLG they'll need public assistance.

Yeah, BC did a great job with that. Not to mention, "Well I have to pay for my kids schooling so..."

(wait, I did mention that. Opps!)

Yes, these figures are in US dollars!

Should be an easy way to negotiate. Use an independent organization (the DOD) to set housing and COLA figures. The figures fluxuate with the exchange rate. You could do the same should CDG get back in the picture.

Overseas Housing Allowance (OHA) Query

Good luck with your negotiations!

If I remember the Union's LOA 2.0 briefing regarding housing, here's the logic behind the $2700 housing allowance. The Company believes the $2700 is to supplement my current house payment. My current house payment is $1950 a month. (Yes, my wife says I am a cheap b*st*rd to stay in my engineer house.) Okay, now I will do public math and arrive at $4650 housing allowance for Hong Kong. Oh Yeah, there is no additional utility allowance. Are they serious? I would be getting almost $2000 less than an E-1. Hello DM, I do have a family.

I have been with FedEx for 7 years. If I recall correct, I have cast a vote in every election. I voted yes for the last contract and naively voted yes for LOA Version 1.0. My vote was wrong on LOA Version 1.0. I took DW's recommendation at face value. After the over 60 retro action and DW saying LOA 1.0 was the best we could get, LOA Version 2.0 got a lot more of my attention.

You can only polish a turd so much. VOTE NO ON THE LOA!

Thanks Joust ---- all of this was pointed out by folks with military experience (...especially those who lived overseas in Asia for years), to no avail.

My idea of fairness would have been to use the overseas mil field grade rates and then subtract out the Memphis rates and negogiate to that differential.

I believe the #s would have worked out to be around $4K in Paris and $5K in HKG.

A COLA mechnasim should also have been added.

We have a $2,700.00 stipend if you rent! You should be able to get by on that. Enjoy your 4 hour commute on the stinky train to CAN under your new LOA2 which all the MEM 727 guys will vote yes on b/c FE says it is a great deal.

The only reason I voted no is there wasn't a 'OH MY GOD HELL NO' on the ballot. Look I'm not planning on a FDA for a while, but I am planning on it eventualy. Actually me and mine are looking forward to it. But to set this up with a crappy beginning only means a toilet paper ending.
Y'all be good.
