Seems to me that the guys picketing Sandy Springs have done a HUGE disservice to those that would like to work here. Some may still be able to get on, but as for any sort of preferential hiring or interviewing, I can just imagine the answer when Miller ask for it...."you want us to do what? give some hiring advantage to those guys that picketed us?". They have no idea what this company's corporate ego is like. Hell, look at some of the reaction you see here from IPA guys.

I guess that they had their fun and I hope that they feel better, but they just ****ed in the punch bowl.

What was that picketing supposed to do, shame UPS into turning away a billion dollars a year? Make a bunch of UPS career employees quit like the guy that "gets it"? This "anti american" thing is really wearing thin with me. Does anyone really think that an american company might not have made the same choice? How about all the main line flying that went to regionals in the last 15 years or so. Is that really any different?

Right, that was the picket sign that really chapped my ass too!

ALPO condones a sign that calls UPS un-American! Astar guys should not have carried that sign around. You all lost my support.

Nope, I remembered that one from my block rep at Polar, ex Eastern. You're not a member of that illustrious group, are you? I'll never forget the day the all-powerful and wise National dude showed up right after we voted them in and said (I'm paraphrasing)" Thanks for voting us in! We have no idea what your issues in the cargo world are, but we really appreciate your dues and your support of our national programs" Sad but true.

I'm sure that all the ASTAR guys will be jumping for joy, just to shine your IPA wings...If you'll just give them the opportunity to interview, to be your S/Os.

Why are they too good to be UPS S/Os or something?

Imagine this: Deutsche Post buys UPS. You are not a UPS pilot now, you work for "Brown Airlines", and your ownership of UPS branded flying is gone like a fart in the wind. Under the new ownership, UPS loses market share and efficiency. Most of the package delivery market in the US is now controlled by Fed Ex. Deutsche Post then pays Fed Ex to fly UPS branded freight, leaving "Brown Airlines", your employer, without any developed revenue streams.

You go from a UPS CA flying your own company's branded freight to a ACMI CA with no customers. Are you, as a former UPS pilot too good to work a purple panel, 'Ned'? Your years of service to UPS will continue as you carry UPS freight in the back of your purple 72.

Unbelievable!!!!

On second thought, I guess it isn't. It's typical pilot mentality. You're no better than the EAL guys were with Braniff, the UAL guys with Frontier and actually worse than the AA guys with TWA. I know that all these scenarios were different...But, the attitude is the same. Doesn't matter what the name of your union is.

I would make decision along the way that were in the best interests of my family, and if I had to start over at the aquiring airline on the panel, I would gladly do it.

I would NOT go walk a picket line and slash my own throat.

The decisions that you make in life have consequences. You win some you lose some.

I find it unbelievable too that you are too proud to start over as an S/O at the acquiring company. I guess you are too good for that.

Let your kids starve, I guess???
