FedEx discounts?
#2
The majority of published FedEx employee discounts are found behind the firewall (on an actual FedEx computer,) I will try to direct you to where they are, but I may not be sure of the exact addresses because I just saved the page to my laptop from AOC.
A good way to start exploring yourself is to click the "home" button on Internet Explorer while on a FedEx computer. That will take you to http://home.fedex.com From there, click the "Portal" link on the upper right side, login using your employee number/password. For pilots & mechanics, it will load the AOC main page. Most links are on this page, and from here, on the top row somewhere is the "Work/Life" section. This is where some discounts are as well. Here is what I have found so far....
1) Airline discounts - The full list is located under "International Personal Travel Benefits" on the "Personal Travel" section of the "TravelNet" portion of the FedEx web. (ID90, ID75, fixed fare, etc.) You can also find pilot-specific discounts from the main VIPS page, by clicking the "Forms" link, then "Personal Travel Request Forms."
2) Stuff discounts (Cars, food, entertainment, cell phones, etc.) - This is what you find in the "Work/Life" section. http://hronline.corp.fedex.com/benefits/worklife/
3) Rental Car discounts - This is part of the "TravelNet" site, again under "Personal Travel." (Hertz, National, Alamo CRP discount codes, and Gold/Emerald/Quicksilver signup.)
3) Hotel discounts - Again, part of the "TravelNet" site, under "Personal Travel." Here it lists the discounts and then the Corporate discount codes to for online bookings, or it will list the 'special' website or phone number for reservations. (Usually 10-25% off BAR)
Hope this helps. I would suggest printing at least the Hotel and Rental Car codes or saving them on your computer during a turn, or while on a FedEx computer, as you can't find these pages outside the firewall. I know, there is a way on the old 'green screen' to find some of this as well, but I'm a web-based point-&-click kind of person. (I've been using the rental car & hotel discounts for a few years now. Pretty good deal.) Remember, we are giving them discount shipping in exchange!
**Please refrain from posting the exact discount codes on a public website**
