The company made the rec form a pain in the ass so that an employee wouldn't be submitting one for every buddy in his contact list. Pretty smart move actually....it eliminates all frivolous computer generated form letter type LORs stating how great the guy is, and what a great fit he would be for UPS. |

Here's basically what he said, "It's now a point system and 5 points is max anyone can get. A lot of applicants have four points, you know, missing one thing or another. So, I think it was mentioned earlier on this thread, but the Dulles AirInc job fair shows UPS attending (Sharnika Chandler).
However, the application window is still closed correct? Just trying to understand why UPS will go to the job fair and not open up the application... Thanks. |

Also, remember it’s still mainly a computer program that select who will get the call (based on a point system). I’d say the job fair helps more with the actual interview than with getting an interview. In other words if you think you’d rank pretty high in the application database (once it opens) I’d say a job fair would be a great way of saying hi to the person who’ll probably interview you further down the road. When I interviewed all three people had met me at different job fairs (yeah, I’m almost embarrassed to admit how many of these I’d attended… ;)). I definitely think it helped to break the ice. |
