UPS is a public corporation, right? DHL and ABX were at one time hauling their own freight at an American owned corporation..just like UPS. To tell these pilots to "get a new flying job" is self serving at best. You are just salivating over the potential new flying at Brown. Some of these guys at DHL/ABX are pulling down 200K per year. What are they going to do...fly an RJ for Skywest? hahaha. I suspect you would be fighting for your job too. If you're honest with yourself, you know you would.

Settle down Brown?? What is this, the Beavis and Butthead show? You remember how he always used to say "Thettle down, Beavith!"

I guess that makes you the Butthead!! HAHAHA

Beavis and Buttthead quotes....

"Boinnngggg!"

"The streets will flow with the blood of the non-believers"

"Bathe her and bring her to me.."

"Hey Baby, have you ever done it with a Gang member?"

IMO...there will be NO jobs created over this deal for UPS....the company will just use bigger airplanes for existing routes and truck everything else they can.

There will be jobs created - maybe not alot of pilot jobs initially but it is a 10-yr contract. We will have to hire. I've heard it will be like running at peak levels everyday. Big plus-up for ONT, PHL and SDF. Yes we can absorb much of the volume in the current system, but not all of it. And when the economy makes the turn to the north, then it gets interesting. We're already flying MD-11s domestically. What's left to upsize to after that?

As reverend Wright said...chickens sometimes do come home to roost.

And while jsled may not be a marvin mainliner (but I suspect he is/was), a disproportionate number of UAL pilots have been first class cornholio's for like...forever. In those cases (and in those cases only) it is ironic to see them on the verge on liquidation. And while I'll never relish another pilot's demise, if anyone deserves a lesson in airline life it's many UAL pilots...not UPS (many/most have paid more dues and been refugees of more "legacies" than any UAL pilot will ever dream of). Jsled, get a grip...perhaps on a job application. Our time may well come again, but not in your lifetime.

The fact is ABX/ASTAR pilots dont want to hear UPS pilots gloating about how this is a good deal and the UPS pilots dont want to hear from ABX/ASTAR pilots that its UPS's fault (although I did post on another thread that if I were UPS I would pass....speaking of management of course not pilots, as they dont have a choice) so lets just drop the crap! I do have a question for those of us that are about to get kicked to the curb.....what if they (DHL) stay with us....what do we have in the long run??? A company that hates its contractors or do we just forget and give each other a big hug?? Dont get me wrong I want to keep my job, but any idea what life would be like?? I suspect that as a bottom feeder I will be gone no matter what. Take this as an honest question and dont ream me a new one.

I'd be like living with your ex-wife. Not really a love/hate relationship, just a hate/hate relationship.
Truthfully, I just can't picture it. I don't think it'll happen, but that's just me. The political angle certainly has gained more momentum than anybody figured.
