It helped during the interview that I had sorted the belt when I was also flight instructing. Still, it made no difference to get the call for the interview. The flying is the most important part.
If you do take the job throwing boxes, make sure that you leave on good terms. If not you will never get a flying job at the company. They check a "would you hire this person again" box when you leave. Make sure they say yes for you.

Okay. When you find that you meet the minimums, throwing boxes will help a great deal. Once you work for 6 or 12 months with fedex, you can apply for the pilot job. This will almost guarantee an interview. Take it for what its worth.

Thanks

I threw boxes AFTER I had the hours! It GUARANTEED I got the call! And I don't plan on leaving for about 11-12 more years! :D
