Atlas Air?

Looking for some info on Altas....

Are you still hiring?
Schedules, Pay during training, Benefits?
Best way to get the resume on the 'good pile'?

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Do a search on this web site and internal recommendations are the way to go to the good pile.

I haven't confirmed this rumor but supposedly the classic classes that were going through have been cancelled and they put them on the 400.

Good luck

Moved one new hire class to the -400 and sent another one home.

Captain transitions from the -200 to -400 have been stopped except for a select few; contract, the last bid and seniority be damned.

Big cuts in Purchase staff a few weeks ago.

All in all it is not looking good.

I thought someone stated on here not too long ago that things were looking ok, not rosey, but ok. What else is up? Good luck to you guys.

Two months ago things did look pretty solid. Maybe they still are, in which case management is just slashing and burning because that is what American management does these days.

All we little people can do is look at the tea leaves.

The employee exchange released information about lowering their profit for the year but 2009 is expected to be right on track. I don't have the exact numbers and too lazy to look them up. But I'm not worried about losing the job . . . .yet.

When you convert from a scheduled service, which has a lot more manpower demand vs ACMI, something has to give. With Polar going to ACMI in October with DHL, there will be a decreased demand for the people in Purchase and elsewhere.
That's one of the many reasons Polar will finally be profitable, and the outlook beyond October is looking good!

85 mil for FY 2008 and 165-175 for FY 2009....You don't have better things to do on your 2 weeks at home besides memorize company presentations? For shame.

In other news, the Dark Overlord resigned today.

<squints>Is it really? Is there a glimmer of light way out there?

I have a friend that works for Polar. His numbers have changed, and I would like to get in touch with him.

If anyone at Polar can give my info to him so he can contact me, PM me.

Thanks
