So true 757upspilot. The most senior guys at ups don't make any more money then they did in the 1990s when folks where leaving all the time for greener pastures.

in a few years the cargo guys could easily be back on the bottom.

You got it, lots of people took the short view this last go around and if it continues we will once again be UPS( Uniteds Pilot School ).

Love that they are going after The Dark Side
Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s up yet. Chrome is now in Beta phase so hopefully once that phase is complete they’ll release a Mac version. I’m impressed with the speed and the multi-tabbing option but I’m sure they got some more improvements coming. Microsoft screwed up when they announced the new Internet Explorer might block some search options Google was using. Google’s response – Chrome. I’m using IE, Safari, Firefox and Chrome. So far Chrome and Firefox are my favorites.

I disagree. The pay did SUCK 1988-1994 (as did the working conditions), but when the 1997 pay scales, coupled with a Captains max longevity of 9 years in 1997, we were making a pretty descent wage compared to the "real airlines." Our guarantee and conflict bidding really helped out too.

I have several family members, of equivalent longevity, flying as real commercial airline Captains for the legacy carriers, and (don't tell them) but since 1997 I've ALWAYS made more w2 on my single pay scale than they ever could stuck at their narrow body Captain rates (now their original retirement plans were usually better).

Are we at the top of the pyramid right now because the rest of the industry collapsed? Yes. Would a UPS/FedEx pilot be near the top if the industry wage scales didn't collapse after 2001, I bet we would.

So in your view this last contract did more than fail to keep up with inflation.
As a Captain at top of scale, with increased medical costs shifted to me I see it as a compensation reduction.
If you want to go round and round about flying until you drop to crank up the pay check, I won't play.

If we don't get our act together as a union UPS will cut us to ribbons on the next contract and yes we will once again be at the bottom of the heap.
