Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Captain K.

For the rest of you, perhaps a little expressed sympathy for Capt. K, instead of expressions of unhappiness about your not being notified by the company, or some other such drivel.

But that would go against the very grain of this board......

I don't know who Capt K is, or at least not right off hand. So when I read this comment, I naturally thought you were blaming him because he was an ND, and you were wondering why an over 60 was over in Paris in the first case. Obviously that's not the real case here.

No just that the original posting made it sound like he was carrying on with his trip, I hope he gets well soon.

It happened at the Meriden Montparnasse. Or rather 10 minutes walk from the hotel. I, too, heard he was alone. He looked really bad. Face swollen, 2 black eyes. Bandage wrapped under his chin to over his head. I would really love to know what the real story is. I was relieved to hear is wasn't trying to operate.

I'm sorry but that was just too funny...

Seriously though, wish the captain a speedy recovery.

I wonder if he was wearing pro American clothes and the local 1st generation Paris residents were peacefully trying to change his allegiance.

Not necessarily 'pro American' . .but he did have his NOBAMA T-shirt and Palin's HOT ball cap on.

It was no scratch! It was about the worst black eye (like half his face) that I have ever seen! His whole head and face looked pretty battered. I believe he had stitches and staples in various places in his head and faced. He told me he was jumped while walking back to his hotel. He said he does not know the reason and that they did not take his wallet. I operated his flight back today, and saw him and talked to him in Paris Ops before he jumpseated out last night!
