UPS ANC crews WARNING
#1
Our crashpad car was stolen out of the employee parking lot right in front of the guard shack between Oct.11 and Oct. 20th.
If you have any information please contact the ANC airport police, UPS guard shack, or pm me.
The ACP said UPS is tired of pilots parking their cars in the employee lot for weeks on end. He said he would not be surprised if it had been towed. (IT WAS NOT). Then he said the pilots can expect to park at the training center and be bused to the guard shack at some point.

Maybe they should just send a van on a crash pad route.

Eliminate a few beaters on the roads and better for the environment.

Just the messenger,
I was told the lot in front of the guard shack/Customer Service Center is for customers and for parking not to exceed 24 hrs.
The two lots for crewmembers are the one across the street and and the one at the end of Lockheed road.
And people make fun of me because I ride the bus to work..yeah you know which I'm bus talkin' about.

You know I had heard that as well and the day I parked it I asked the security ladies inside about that. They said it was okay and not to worry about it. So when the car came up missing I thought for sure they had towed it. As of right now they claim to not have towed it. (WE WILL SEE)
So officially it is stolen.

That would be the icing on the cake....can you say pilot abuse? did you ask if flight managers would have to park at the sim's as well? That lot is so far away..have to add an extra 30 minutes for travel to work. If this happens then the sim parking lot is where my 90 minutes would start for check-in...if we are late then OH F'ing-WELL !!!!!!

According to MAPQUEST ... it is 5.4 miles in 11 minutes.
I drove it a few times in Sept, it was more like 15-20 in normal traffic, without snow covered roads ... FWIW.
Driving Directions from 5719 Raspberry Rd, Anchorage, AK to [5726-6599] Lockheed Ave, Anchorage, AK

In my event report I suggested secure parking with our badges like SDF. I also recommended having check in occur at the sim parking lot. I am sure they are laughing their arses off at that one.

If they don't have check in at the sim parking lot we would have to arrive an hour early in the sim lot to make it to operations and get checked in on time in the winter.
P.S. anyone have a car for sale in ANC?
