NMB Sets Representation Election for Atlas, Polar Flight Crewmembers
NMB Sets Representation Election for Atlas, Polar Flight Crewmembers
I am not familiar with the rules around this. Is the teamsters allowed to push for a vote on the issue? Or does representation from the pilot group need to get the ball rolling? |
This kind of a vote only happens if the 'new' union submits cards signed by at least 60% of the pilots who want a 'new' union.

US Airways and AmericaWest v. 2.0. Nothing like voting in a new union to get the ball rolling on a smooth integration of two pilot groups.
I know the issues, but is this really the best solution? Let's hope so, for all the Atlas/Polar guys, as well as pilots in general. |

It is significant that the Teamsters first act has been a single carrier petition, and that the NMB wasted little time in deciding in favor. ALPA should have done this in 2001. Think about that – for 7 years ALPA National has let this thing fester. |
