Default How backed up is FedEx?

Hello all,

From time to time I hear people say they are in the FedEx "pool" (or some other airline). Does the pool refer to guys who have been told they are hired but havent started training yet? If so what is the average amount of time between getting hired and actually starting training (i.e. getting some kind of pay)

Thanks

Yes, the pool is a place for folks who have been hired, but no class date yet. Who knows how long one can expect to be in the pool. It all depends on the needs of the company. I have heard in the past of people being in the pool for nearly two years! I have been in the FedEx pool for about 2 months now. I hope I can dry off soon!

Am I correct to assume that there is no pay or benefits while you are in the pool??

No job, no pay. Just the comforting knowledge you will some day leave the "pool" for dry land.

Hopefully it wont take as long as it took fish to develop into land breathing animals

As opposed to UPS' "may".
