FDX-777 Future pairings
Should be interesting to see the eventual would be bidpack for the 777.
Haven't taken an in depth look at it, but, seems like the FAA ruling is more restrictive than the "380" limitations in our contract. So, Day 1 MEM-CAN for 16 hours, then min of 48 off (could be less w/specific rest requirements), then back. So, will the 48 off fit with the normal flight pattern or will it be greater. If the company goes for a longer layover, opens up guys for field replacement should a dude get sick out in the field. So, maybe the 777 will be a 6 or 7 day pairing with a mongo layover in the middle. MEM-MEM for a sim, 24 hour off, 16 hour flight, 60-72 off, fly home |

Remember LA's proposed bidpack?
The 777 schedule will be goofed up until they break the plane in and break the system to handle the plane. The geezers will need the 48 hour layovers to rest up for the exterior walk around, so don't pound on them for that.
The real issue, as I see it, is if the planes will come from Boeing equipped with an automated external defibrillator or if they will have to apply for FAA approval to add this necessary piece of equipment? |

On a different note, I've been out in San Diego for the past 5 days and have decided to never go back to Connecticut.:D 75-80 degrees and bright sun, sure beats the crap out of 45 degrees and rain. |
What young RFO?? I believe he's assuming both seats will go very, very senior. We'll see.

The defibs are going to be built into the shoulder straps. Just keep them on all the time and at your first head-bob -ZAP!!!

But hey, 45 and rain sounds OK if you're on a trip. Or if it's home-sweet-home... |
