Default Thank You Team IPA

THANK YOU TEAM IPA! YOU MADE A TOUGH DECISION EASY. I was really on the fence of whether to keep paying my mortgage or stop paying and go for an Obama Home bailout. Since I'm a bottom 300IPA r and the true IPA unity has been shown every penny i now make will need to go to a furlough savings account to help feed my three children for the next three years, I 'am officially done paying my mortgage! Perhaps I will be able to live in my IPA home for the next year rent free during the long slow foreclosure/modification process.

GO TEAM IPA! and please spare me any unity speeches for the next 25yrs of employment.

I tend to agree with Victor. The economy caused the furlough. UPS made a smart business move. The IPA is trying to help but it's probably a lost cause. Don't blame this on the IPA. The IPA has done their best and gone beyond what other unions would do to try and help the junior folks.

Trust me. Blasting the IPA in this manner makes me have no sympathy for you. I'm guessing you are a 5%er in the bottom 300. It's unfortunate. I am trying to give up three months of pay for the next six months. I know Victor has done more than that. Your post makes me want to think twice.....

Perhaps we could give sardine the benefit of the doubt, emotions are running high, and that by "IPA," he really means those members who don't really care about those furloughed. I think we could all agree there are plenty of those in the IPA, the majority, apparently. I'm sure every single one of those prospective furloughees are deeply grateful to those that do care, and have sacrificed. I know I am.
I only wish when we do make it back on the property, we knew which '88'ers (generalizing I know, but the old heads just seem the least empathetic) did not give a cr@p, so we could tell them to stick their guilt ridden beer or dinner up their @ss. I also think we should have some sort of "300" stickers made up for our kit bags as a badge of honor.

sardinesnack,
Understand the frustration. It ain't over yet though. Pouring vinegar might be better held for a later time. Not in the final turn of the race. Perhaps a reflection of your own attitude expressed in your last comment explains some of our challenge now harbored by those you despise. Don't perpetutate it or you will be a bitter man for along time and be the guy who doesn't support the junior 300 20 years from now in another circumstance. You become whom you despise. Break the chain man <g> Break the chain. Hold steady, a long process at work to save you and me in this union gig. Mutual support is key. Even if it is only some, a third have joined together and it is still growing.

Frontseat,
No, alot of activity in the final curve, still have till Tuesday on JS/RDG.
Lots of RDG questions and it is getting responses. What is the alternative, quit running in the final curve? When UPS rings the bell, then I'll stop. Procrastinators are coming up to hit.

Thanks, Salty, but time for a reality check. It's not gonnna happen - as noted above, 2/3 of the IPA membership has decided what their priorities are. I would bet that the majority of the IPAers that read APC are among the more informed and more likely to participate, yet the majority of the union has decided to cast us aside for the sake of thier paychecks and lifesyles.

I will be hard pressed when I'm laid off to blame the company or the EB for my plight - only the 62% of the IPA that sat on their hands.

FD
