Train From CDG to CGN
I'm staying at the Lafayette in about 2 weeks and want to take the train to CGN. I've done it before from the InterContinental by going over to the Gare du Nord but haven't done it from the Lafayette. Where is the best place to buy the ticket and best way to the train station without doing a big bag drag?
I tried doing a search on this forum for "train Paris Cologne" and no results came up. I know people have posted on this subject before but I couldn't find it.

Thalys: Your train between Paris, Brussels, Cologne, Amsterdam - Purchase, Online train tickets reservation
Good service. Drinks, food, and attentive attendants. Have fun.

I've done it many times, and its a snap. Taxi to gare du nord train station is easiest and only costs about 14 euro. I always leave the hotel about one hour before the train i want. Go to the ticket window at the station (the one that says english spoken) and ask for a 1st class ticket to Koln. Short walk from train station (right by the cathedral) to the hotel. check the Thalys online train schedule for the best high speed one for you. enjoy

I recommend buy it online, charge to the company card, and pick up the ticket at the station. Don't forget to keep the stub and e-mail receipt for the expense report. Pick up at ticket booth for international trains.
Last time I went there I waited in line for 45 minutes to pick up my ticket and almost missed my train. Next time I will get there much earlier.

There is an office to buy tickets across the street from the concorde layfayette mall. Go right out our north "front" door and take the street south(another right) along the hotel building. As the hotel buiding ends on your right look accross the street to your left and its right there.
