Default Another question

How long is the "swim" in the hiring pool for both FedEx and UPS? Is it "first in - first out" or is the time in the pool based on the qualifications and hours of the new hire?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know about FedEx but at UPS it is a competitive pool. Basically, from what I understand, you are scored at the UPS interview (HR and sim) and they pull you out according to your score. Theoretically, if you didn't do that great in the interview but good enough to get the job, you could sit in there forever as long as others keep scoring higher than you. Also, I heard if you are military, there is an automatic subtraction of 20 points for your score so you really have to kick a$$ if you are military and ever want to get out.................he he just kidding.

FedEx recently has hired directly to the right seat of the Airbus. I had a sim last night and their was a f/o with employee number 611xxx on FTD 2 in an earlier sim. I asked my instructor about that and he said that person was a new hire!
