FDX - Customer Service A+
Here' a story for you. Wife ordered a bike on the internet as a Christmas present for my son. Door bell rings, there's a UPS guy standing there with the bike at his feet....as my son answers the door. "Hey, a new bike!!" There goes that surprise....
Today, A FedEx truck pulls in the driveway, the driver gets out of his truck, comes to the door, rings the bell, I answer. He says, "Sir, I have a very large home kitchen toy in the back of the truck...I didn't want to ring the bell and leave it here, you know how kids run to the door when the doorbell rings (why, yes I do). What do you want me to do with it?" I go open the garage and we sneak it in....beautiful! I introduced myself, thanked him and shook his hand. Way to go brown! Nicely done FedEx! :) |
special
now...isn't that special...btw hope you tipped the fedex driver for providing the extra special service..after all, he doesn't make near as much as the ups driver (who works for ups versus the fedex driver who really is just an independent contractor...yada yada yada...)

Just an observation:
I wondered how the Fedex Ground freight got to Hawaii? The Fedex Ground vans were parked next to the Fedex Express vans. No wonder why Fedex Express business has been down. I thought Tigers had the best looking female pilots?? |
OK, this is getting serious. Never mind that the UPS driver gave away the BIG secret about the bike before Christmas. That's small potatoes. What he did do was he lost my balls. Well, let me clarify. A few days ago I ordered about $150 worth of purple racquetballs, which were to be delivered today. But alas, when I got back from the gym tonight, they weren't there. But knowing the MO of the UPS drivers, I immediately launched a search and recovery mission for said balls.
So I turned all the external lights on and proceeded to walk around the whole house. But, again, my balls didn't surface. The good news is that during my trek around the house, I found a package that had been placed behind a shrub, that was "delivered" about a week ago, for my wife. My question is why would the UPS driver walk by our enclosed, lighted breezeway, climb up 3 unlit stairs and walk about 20 steps around an unlit garden, to our front door, that is never used, and also unlit, and then decide to place the package behind a bush? Why didn't he just put it in the breezeway, like they've done a million times before? It must have been a replacement driver, because our normal driver knows where to drop stuff. Anyway, back to my balls. Along with an email confirmation of my order, was a UPS tracking number. so a little while ago I clicked on the link and found that indeed, my balls should be somewhere near or around my house. According to the disclaimer on the UPS web site, "if a signature is not required, the driver can just use his discretion and drop the package anywhere he desires." Needless to say, I took another walk around the house, this time at about 10:30 P.M., still to no avail. So tomorrow, I'll block out about an hour or two and spend most of it on hold, until some person, who probably doesn't speak English, tells me that "Yes", your balls were delivered at (7:30 P.M., according to the tracking information), and is there anything else that they can help me with.:D What a freakin way to run a railroad. I'm seriously p!ssed. These balls don't grow on trees, you know. JJ |

Let me preface this by saying that we've all had issues both FedEx and UPS. But this is Funny A few years back. I order a Dell Computer (I know stupid). It was shipped via UPS. When said computer didn't arrive I went on line to track it down. According to tracking number it had been delivered and sign for by someone. I called UPS, they acted like I was crazy. So I called Dell, they were responsive and started an investigation. The next day UPS calls to tell me they "delivered it to Fedex" ????? They said they couldn't find my address so they dropped it off at Fedex. They couldn't tell me where, just that since "fedex" was next to my name as an employee purchase, that fedex had it. I told them that Fedex had dozens of locations in the Memphis area and it might be helpful if they gave me a hint. Two days later some nice guy from the mailroom at Fedex's Tech center, in Collierville (40 min away) called me to let me know my computer was there. Dell apologized and refunded me my shipping. Never heard anything from UPS. |

I'd be interested in them. |
Too good to pass up
OUCH! JJ, sorry to hear about your balls!
P.S. Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year! fbh |
The issue isn't that they didn't get a signature, because where I live, neither UPS or FedEx ever gets a signature. It's just that they've said it was delivered, and I never got it. Da Bums.:( Oh well, I guess as Fred Smith said "Christmas is dead." Glad I'm not a kid like Mayday, expecting a new Wii, or other such toy, or I'd be very unhappy.

The balls, she no come yet! And I do miss Bangkok. Oh well, the problems with growing old.:D
JJ An update: I just did another "track" of my package and now the UPS screen says "rescheduled delivery date: 18 Dec", instead of "delivered", as it had said last night. That's ok. At least I didn't have to spend time on the phone on hold, just to be told it had already been delivered. |
JJ,
At your age, or any age for that matter, blue balls can be dangerous to your health. Pls check out the Thailand tourist department before it's too late!:D Happy Festivus |
Speaking of balls...
That reminds me:
Confucius say: baseball all wrong. Man with four balls cannot walk. Merry Christmas all. |
At 4:58 P.M. this evening, the UPS package car drove by and one of Santa's helpers chucked my balls out. The carton that they were in bounced across the driveway and stopped when it hit the garage. I'm happy that I'm again with balls, but really don't understand why, after they didn't deliver them on the day they were supposed to, they took all day, the next day, to actually get them to me. I would have thought that if they missed an afternoon delivery, that they would have put them on the truck, for delivery the next morning. Oh well.
And for all those of you who were concerned about my balls, thanks.;) JJ |
