Blacklisting?

;)

There are numerous Cargo and Pax companies out there that have access to a Blacklist for Pilots & Fe's etc. Does anyone know how to access this list on the Internet?

Thanks

I had no idea that there was such a thing. How does "blacklisting" work and why are certain crewmembers blacklisted? I sthis the same as the "Master Scab" list? Or is this something different?

I know that UPS cross references the blacklist when you submit an application so see if you are on it or not.

make a search on google under "master scab list"

Blacklisting

:) Yes there is in fact a Blacklist that the Corporate World will use against you if you were involved in any legal, or whistleblower action against a previous employer etc. Airline companies are no exception either. They will not disclose any of this Blacklisting info with you though as they are fearful of a deformation of character lawsuit against them. Some companies will bad mouth you behind closed doors which is also kept a secret.

The Dirtbag companies like Kalitta, Amerijet, Custom Air, Tradewinds, Arrow, Atlas, and Ryan desire for you to not disclose or writeup marginal airplanes that disrupt their schedules etc. So, in other words they desire to control you!

The Scab blacklist is a separate entity I believe.

If anyone else out there has any info on this please let us all know.

Thanks

I thougth you mean blacklisted by the union....

I do believe airlines do have a blacklist, for example, all the union leaders, they seem to have the hardest time going from one job to another if they have held and mec position....specially going to the majors seems impossible if you held that post during your regional days....it makes you wonder

Blacklisting.

;) Hello,

I was not referring to a union action, although they can blacklist you for being outspoken even though your right. Example: Safety conscious airman who costs them money to fix their airplanes due to the fact that he, or she takes a stand against them by refusing to take an airlplane that is not airworthy, and that also has been "Pencil Whipped" by maintenance!

The blacklisting that I was referring to involves legal action after the fact.

So, in essence once you do take legal action against a company they then supposedly have a "Secret Blacklist" that they share with other companies where your applying for work so as to prevent you from seeking gainful employment etc!

Thanks

Charley: it sounds like you can't keep a job! maybe its time to reflect on a few things. this must be true because how else would you know what it is like at said airlines and their devious intent to control you. maybe you haven't worked at those airlines but to call all them dirtbags maybe a bit much. i'm sure there are many fine folks at all the mentioned airlines and take offense to your remark. happy days.

Blacklisting

:) Hello,

Well maybe I did go overboard a little, but I can honestly tell you that the spineless whimps that are out there would sell out their own mothers if they had to!

I am not bitter as I have seen plenty as a well seasoned airman who has been around the horn.

I have no regrets either. Be careful as the snakes are out there trust me.

Most large companies and many small/medium ones (in any industry) will do a background check on prospective employees...criminal and civil court records are readily available to the public.

If you are a manager, about to hire someone, and you see that she has a history of suing previous employers for harassment, discrimination, etc are you REALLY going to want to have to deal with that? Not just from a business perspective but from the perspective of also being personally named in the lawsuit and having to post a bond to avoid pre-trial seizure of your OWN house...I know what I'd do... ;)

I have no idea if there's a blacklist, but you don't really need one...just download the applicant's life history from the web and make up your own mind.
