Face it ....this has turned into a Miss Congeniality contest with Pablo. If you are one of his buds; then he was a "man of principle". You guys also correctly state that "if he didn't bid it, some dikkhead would have."
As a Union officer though, he owed it to US, his constituents to put his personal desires behind(like Albie, Tony et al have done) and take a stand on principle for those he will be PAID to represent.
Just imagine how vitriolic your admonitions would be if this was FH trying to sell this lame justification to the crew force. How did Sarah say it.....lipstick on a pig; you're still a pig.
Sorry Pablo but....as far as being a Union rep..........you got to go!!!

Same people always try to climb the ladder because they have a small penis. Could not make it to the top in the AF or Navy or Marines by a$$ kissing so they try to do it here. At the same time they kiss the a$$ of the top brass and act like a fellow bro. These individuals are still trying to impress mommy and daddy, their school mates at the class reunion, and their neighbors with their status in life. JL sent out emails that amused the idiots and made them think he was on their side. Then he sat across the negotiating table and worked against us and got upset when the union called him on it. Remember the throwing rocks email? He was a union member negotiating against the union. Now he has a $500,000 job with management while he is over 60 and telling you that you have no special job skills. Talk about someone that pi$$ed on you boots and told you it was raining. Anyone that tells me JL was a great guy has lost immediate credibility with me. PB is now in that category. Resign now! If he will not it is time for his block to recall him.

You had to be a no-guy to be in training or standards - it also helped to go to the right church, be on the right bbq team, and even help the manager by selling magnets for his side business. I gotta jump in; I've been lurking for several weeks.

I'm an instructor now, but I too was blackballed for several years from getting into the training dept. due to my union (ALPA 1, FPA) activities, and admittedly my open opinions on "our(self-centered) own" who undermined us along the way to getting a respectable contract . The dynamics have changed, as the overwhelming majority of my peers in Training strongly support the union, even though we feel we were sold out by both parties for this current contract.

What matters now is solidarity!! Management and there minions are just rabid to pick up any divisevniss we show, either on this forum, AOC, Flight training, at Southwind CC, Grizzlies game...

..Barrio Baretto, Orchard Towers, etc.:D:rolleyes:

Sad to say, but I have to give a double ditto. Nothing personal....just business (and what I consider common sense).

They could also argue that we agreed to NB rate for the 757 which is 20 percent larger than the 727, so we/they allow a broad range for each category.

Well, ask your lawyer what union represented the FedEx pilot group when Fred bought Tigers. No contract and no union they got the rates the FAB OK'd.

Here's my 2 cents worth:
250 fellow pilots bid the 777, not just Pablo. What about the rest of them?
If anyone should resign it should be DW, he went against the members on age 60, gave us a substandard FDA LOA.

Deuce130 01-07-2009 11:06 PM

I thought Pablo's post concerning his decision to bid the 777 was eloquent, heartfelt, and thoughtful. Hopefully his MEC resignation letter will be the same.

So everyone who bid it was awarded it? Interesting... That's a first.

Or, did you mean to refer to the hundreds, possibly well over a thousand, that actually did bid it?

Have you looked at JL's schedule for January? His schedule is open. I guess in between the Europe trips he'll have to be in the office to make his $500,000salary.

JetJocF14 01-08-2009 05:50 AM

Actually if you look at the first 50% of the 777 pilots many not all but many of them could be classified into another group. The NO group...........:(
