UPS Jumpseat Question in SDF...
I've never jumpseated UPS before. If I take you guys in to SDF, is there a way to get from your sort facility to the airline terminal to take a Delta flight? Do you guys operate a shuttle or do I have to take a cab? Thanks!

PM me if need more help.
Look here for basic scheduling and flight info. The Independent Pilots Association
and call 1-800-BAT-CREW (228-2739) to book. When you get the recording, select option 4 ("Crew scheduling and Reciprocal Jumpseats", then Option 1 ("for Jumpseats") and will talk to a human. List yourself on the flight. Everything is in Zulu time. (that can make a Thursday night flight the next 'Z"date which would be the Friday calendar date, so be mindful and it confuses us sometimes too <g>.)
If you fly UPS in to our SDF sort, Yes, they will take you to the terminal. I confirmed this with our admin folks that run the vans. As UPSFO stated, they don't do terminal runs after the last commercial flight lands till the first one goes out in the am. (about midnight to 0500 local) Of course, why would you want to go over then anyway?. Could sit in an easychair in our facility till the early a.m and then go to the terminal.
They will not bring you from the terminal to our security gate though. Would need a taxi to take you from the pax terminal to our Edgewood Security gate where you would get screened like any TSA screen (we have contractors) on Lotus Ave. (Guess about a $10 and 10 minute ride) UPS will then take you inside to the crew area to catch your jumpseat.
The terminal runs are every half hour on the top and bottom of the hour
(10:00 then 10:30, etc and it takes about 15 minutes to get over to the pax terminal....) Will catch the shuttle from the "backdoor" which is where you are brought in from the plane. Just ask anyone.
I'd bet that you could get to most places from SDF on UPS that Delta goes. i.e. ATL, etc. Just would spend a few hours at most relaxing in our sort.
Spread the word to your Delta buds, the crews have really helped me out and always appreciated.

Hey! Thanks for the responses. Here's my situation. I'm trying to get to CVG, but UPS doesn't fly in there. I was going to take an RJ out of SDF that leaves at 7am, so I'd probably need to leave the sort facility around 5:30am to 6am. Does the shuttle run that early? Does it just run during the day sort or is it 24 hours a day? Thanks again!

CP,
Yes, go over at 0530 would work. Would relax in our TV room ,etc after you arrive. We have a cafeteria to get something to eat. Relax and catch some shut eye and grab the 05:30 to the terminal.
They dont run shuttle to the terminal during the middle of the night since the pax birds aren't flying. UPS shuttles crews out early a.m often to catch that 0700 flight and some earlier ones.
