Default Road to UPS/or other freighters

Currently I have about 5500 hours in multi- engine time[ Recip] mostly local flights and VFR. I was seeking advice to direct myself into 121 Cargo, and/or freight carriers. This is my thrid career, and I'm in my mid 40's; wondering about my age and if it's to late to really have "a Shot" into the major Cargo realm?
Thanks for any guidance?

you have a tough row to hoe, especially without turbine PIC, but where there is a will there is a way, do you have any buddies flying professionally who can give you an"in"? ignore browntail, we all do.

Hey that's not nice... after all browntail spelled "no" correctly. Not bad for the company mascot.

Yeah I know its name is Browntail. Anyway what's the purpose of your queery? It can’t be out of altruism. I know altruism is a big word but you can look it up in the dictionary... not the pictionary... you know the one with words and not pictures.

You should come up to KDAY and ask the other guys what prospects they have. I'm sure they would get a kick out of you. You would fit in well at our Star Wars Cafe. Nah on second thought... you're just to mean spirited.

I have about 500 BE200 time and some PC-12, but mostly I have been happy in my current job. Now that things have changed, the position is not fun anymore, Life is to short to deal with negative people and deteriorating company moral. I would like to spend a few years flying cargo internationally, i.e. TOPS routing, but I believe that my age will deter my goals. I’m lacking in the “in” department, but have a plan to do some major networking in the next few month, to help with that problem.
Once again Thanks for any guidance
Maybe [Browntail] you should consider Real Estate!

Amen, his "big" paycheck has not bought him a lick of sense. Anyway, life is too short,to not pursue your dreams,do you have a particular company in mind? just curious, there is more than one way to skin a cat.
