Probably not. We just recently received a Dangerous Goods/Haz Mat homestudy and some new literature on Haz Mat to carry around with us. Also, the fleet is receiving new equipment (i.e., breathing apparatus) that was never required to be on the aircraft prior. In other words, the flight crews and aircraft are getting geared up for hauling some new stuff.

You know, captjns, I don't know if I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, but this comment of your really chaps me. From your profile, you don't fly for any of the contractors. From previous posts that you've made, you used to fly for one of them. First of all, 1. where is your dog in this fight? You are not affected by this. Our pilots are nothing but professional! Yeah, we ***** like every other pilot out there, but to even ask such a stupid question like that is insulting. The fight is not with the contractors themselves, but with our company, and we are trying to enforce our collective bargaining agreement which protects our jobs and flying acquired by the company.

For you to insinuate our pilots treating fellow pilots with disrespect is unfounded.

Maybe I haven't had enough coffee this morning, and your statement was meant in jest, but it sur didn't come across that way.

Sure hope the union has an ace up their sleeve on this one. I'd say my individual participation in the fuel savings program just ended.

Why in the hell where you even involved in it in the first place? Like you or the IPA would ever get anything back by saving UPS a few bucks a flight.

No you will not be flying OUR freight. You will NOT be treated with respect because you are a bottom feeder. Go try and suck some flying from DHL.

According to a friend of mine at ABX, Astar is going to take over the DHL flying in EWR, but Astar doesn't have enough A/C to handle the flying so they are going to sub it out to expressnet!

Too 1800RVR... stick to decaf

Lighten up Francis and ease up on the caffeine.

Read the statement from your fellow schoolmate, the company mascot, and you will understand why I ask the question. I do take it personally... for I flew for a company that flies cargo from KDAY, and I am still involved with that carrier.

The argument is not pilot to pilot... in fact there is no argument to be had. Business is business and that's it. With the sentiment expressed below I am asking a simple question, not posed at you personaly.

Luby has further said that we cannot be guaranteed the SCS flying. I don't see how the contract can allow it, but our scope expert basically has said we can't demand the flying that SCS generates, including Menlo once it is fully integrated into SCS. Sucks, but that's what the experts are saying. That said, I believe we should still go after every bit of the SCS flying, since they are a subsidiary of the parent UPS

First of all, my name isn't Francis. What an original, grown up way to respond to another's post. You were the one who posed the question.

I cannot speak for Browntail, for he is an adult and can answer for himself. I'm sure he is a nice person, and everyone can have their own opinion. Did you ever think that just maybe, he is trying to get your goat? We don't have to agree with everyone - that's what makes America great. But, it was what was implied in your blanket statement about how contractors would be treated, IF they were to continue flying Menlo freight, is what rubbed me the wrong way. The tone and intent of your original statement was off the mark.

And by the way, decaf sucks.

OK... OK what ever your name is.

Your statement,

is quite naïve.

But you still haven’t answered the question. It’s not hard, and I don’t ask you to represent your pilot group, I am curious to know if our pilots will be treated OK… that’s all.

Well, treated with respect by who?

Management?? Supposedly we, UPS pilots, don't get treated with respect by management, so I don't see why the contract haulers would be.

If you are talking about UPS pilots treating the cargo haulers with respect, I would hope we are (I know I am stretching this a little far) MATURE enough adults to do that. I mean, if this came to be, it's not the guy's/gal's flying the cargo fault.

Spoken like a true airline professional that deserves top notch facilities, pay and respect.
